A Great Recipe for Meatloaf

Posted by: admin CEO on 10/18/2015 12:38 PM

Start with 2 lbs of high grade hamburger in a mixing bowl. Add the ingredients to taste or my unorthodox way of measuring, it is up to you. But to start add 2 eggs, a packet of Lipton onion soup mix, a pinch of salt. a sprinkle of pepper, a dash of your favorite season salt (mine is Lowery's), a light covering of onion powder, 4 big circles of ketchup, two smaller circles of Dijon mustard, two teaspoons of original A-1 sauce, and three slightly burnt pieces of toast with the crust removed and crumbled real fine into the mix.
Mix the mixture thoroughly until you now longer see any of the ingredients and the entire mixture has one consistency and looks like hamburger again. Add the mixture to a standard meatloaf pan keeping the meat approximately 3/4 of an inch from the top of the pan allowing an area for the grease to collect. Cover the entire top of the meatloaf with a generous portion of ketchup approximately 1/4 inch thick to prevent the top from burning and create a nice crust on the top. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and pop it in for 50 minutes and forget it. When you take it out in 50 minutes drain the grease off the top of the pan in a safe dispensing unit and put the meatloaf back in the oven for another 10 - 15 minutes to complete the cooking. Cut and serve with mashed potatoes and corn, enjoy.
